1.X   QUALITY ASSURANCE

1. Fire-Test-Response Characteristics: For fire-resistance-rated assemblies that incorporate non-structural steel framing, provide materials and construction identical to those tested in assembly indicated according to ASTM E119 by an independent testing agency. Products used in the assembly shall carry a classification label from Underwriters Laboratories (UL).
   
   (Retain paragraph below where framing is part of STC-rated assemblies.
   Indicated design designations of specific assemblies on Drawings.)
   
2. STC-Rated Assemblies:  For STC-rated assemblies, provide materials and construction identical to those tested in assembly indicated according to ASTM E90 and classified according to ASTM E 413 by an independent testing agency.

2.3   COMPONENTS

1. Non-structural Studs: Cold-formed galvanized steel C-studs, ClarkWestern ProSTUD™ drywall studs, in conformance with ASTM C-754 for conditions indicated below:
   1. Flange Length: 1 1/4 inch (32mm) 125 flange.
   2. Web Depth: As indicated on drawings.
   3. Designation: ProSTUD 25 (25ga equivalent drywall stud) 70ksi
      Minimum Thickness: 0.0150 inches (0.3810mm)
      Minimum Design Thickness: 0.0158 inches (0.4013mm)
      
   4. Designation: ProSTUD 22 (22ga equivalent drywall stud) 70ksi
      Minimum Thickness: 0.0179 inches (0.4547mm)
      Minimum Design Thickness: 0.0188 inches (0.4775mm)
      
   5. Designation: ProSTUD 20 (20ga equivalent drywall stud) 65ksi
      Minimum Thickness: 0.0220 inches (0.5588mm)
      Minimum Design Thickness: 0.0232 inches (0.5893mm)

   6. Members that can show certified third party testing in accordance with ICC-ES-AC86 (Approved July 1995—Editorially Revised September 2005) and conform to the limiting height tables in Specification C 754 need not meet the minimum thickness limitation set forth in 4.3 or the minimum section properties set forth in 8.1.
2. Non-structural Track: Cold-Formed galvanized steel runner tracks, ClarkWestern ProTRAK™ drywall track, in conformance with ASTM C-754 for conditions indicated below:
   1.          Flange Length: 1 1/4 inch (32 mm) T125 flange.
   2.          Web Depth: Track web to match stud web size.
   3.          Minimum Material Thickness: Track thickness to match wall stud thickness.
